Zachary Moen handcrafts a wide range of models of violins, violas and cellos to meet the unique requirements of each player. He offers four lines of instruments at different price points to make quality instruments accessible to a broad range of discerning string players. His instruments are typically inspired by classic great instruments by famous makers such as Stradivari, Guarneri del Gesu, Bergonzi, Gasparo da Salò, and others.
Zachary Moen is an accomplished violinmaker and stringed instrument connoisseur. Mr. Moen has been a violinist since the age of three, was an apprentice to prominent violinmaker Gregg Alf, and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Violin Society of America (VSA).
Zachary Moen's violinmaking studio is located in the historic John and Emily Bonnin house, just blocks from downtown Ann Arbor, Michigan and the University of Michigan campus. Visits to the studio are strictly by appointment only. The studio only sells and services instruments by Zachary Moen and does not offer repair, restoration, or appraisals for other instruments.
