Zachary Moen handcrafts heirloom quality stringed instruments.
Zachary Moen handcrafts a wide range of models of violins, violas and cellos to meet the unique requirements of each player. He offers three categories of instruments at different price points to make quality instruments accessible to a broad range of serious string players. His instruments are typically inspired by classic great instruments by famous makers such as Stradivari, Guarneri del Gesu, Bergonzi, Gasparo da Salò, and others.
Zachary Moen is an accomplished violinist, violinmaker, and stringed instrument connoisseur. Mr. Moen has been a violinist since the age of three, was an apprentice to prominent violinmaker Gregg Alf, and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Violin Society of America (VSA).
Zachary Moen's violinmaking studio is located in the historic John and Emily Bonnin house, just blocks from downtown Ann Arbor, Michigan and the University of Michigan campus.
